What’s Wrong With My Website?
There’s probably nothing wrong with your website that a Marketing Tool Makeover wouldn’t help.
When the Internet was young, it was pretty easy to create a website that worked. People were still in awe of the newest “toy” on the block. All they needed to be impressed was an online practice brochure – lots of pretty pictures and flowery text.
Things have changed. On the new Internet, your website has to engage and motivate visitors. You have to reach out through their computer monitors, grab them by the collar and get their attention.
Nowadays, People are Too Busy and Too Smart.
The world got crazier and people no longer had the luxury of “surfing” the Internet like it was some kind of day-long activity at the beach. They started using the net as a research tool rather than a pastime.
Women (who made up the fastest growing segment of new Internet users for the last six years straight), started checking out health providers like they were window shopping for shoes.
They started:
• searching for specific phrases describing exactly what they wanted
• clicking on two or three choices from the first page of search results
• and giving the website a 15-20 second scan
If they didn’t find what they wanted, only 10% of them would move on to another page in your website. 80% simply changed their search terms and hit it the search button again.
