When you type in “dentist”, Google decides which of many nearby dentists it should show you in the map at the top of the search results. Only seven are chosen.

Who gets listed in the “lucky seven”? Well, you would think that Google would simply pick those offices closest to the location of your computer. Not So! See the other red dots on this map? Those are nearby dentists who were NOT chosen.

Google is always very concerned about the quality of “search experience” that its users enjoy. It never wants its users to be disappointed.

So, Google looks at each potential dentist’s Google Maps Listing and decides which ones are the “best.”
