Tis’ the Season

It’s not too early to start thinking about this years’ Christmas Greeting Card. In fact, you should have already started working on it. The holiday season will be here before we know it, and that means your patients and prospects will be receiving oodles of greeting cards. With all the seasonal mail that gets stuffed into their mailboxes, how do you make your greeting stand out?

Here are a few of our recommendations:

     1. The best way to create a favorable and lasting impression is to personalize your greeting. Hand-address the envelopes and hand-write your signature. Use real stamps on the envelope instead of running them through a postage meter. Most people only hand-address and sign cards for close friends and family. Personalizing the cards in this manner will help you build a stronger relationship will your patients.

     2. Design a greeting card that will be used throughout the year. Including a calendar with the card will increase the chances of your card being seen for more than just the four week holiday season.

     3. Don't send a traditional Christmas card at all. Instead, wait for a different holiday like Thanksgiving, Fourth of July, Arbor Day, etc., and send your card then. Your patients won’t expect a greeting, which will certainly make a lasting impression. Don’t abandon any traditions you might have already established. If you’ve sent a traditional Holiday Card every year, continue to send a traditional Holiday Card.

     4. Develop an entire Marketing Campaign around the holiday seasons. Use a Christmas card as the campaign’s kickoff, and follow up throughout the year with continued holiday greetings.

Marketing & Media Planning

Why Planning Matters

Succeeding in the field of Dentistry is challenging. Issues such as insurance reliance, advertising confusion, and health-value misunderstanding influence how well your marketing message is accepted. Your competition plays a role in the perception of the practice and your local options for developing an image need to be used effectively to overcome these challenges.

What kind of marketing is right for your image? Who is your competition? What will make you stand out from the crowd? How can you position yourself around your competition? Is radio better than television in your area? Are the Yellow Pages a worthwhile investment for your practice? If you don't have complete answers to these questions and many others, much of your marketing dollars could be bringing in the wrong patients.
