The Great Google Search Switch: Now What?
If you had worked hard to get your Google Local Maps Listing on the first page of Google local searches, you may have awakened to the sound of all that hard work being bull-dozed by Google’s newest change in search results presentation.

Google has integrated the Local Listings into the organic search results. So now, when someone searches for “dentist Anderson IN”, they will no longer see a map and seven local listings at the top of the page followed by ten organic listings of relevant websites. Now they will see ten organic listings – some with the red Google map pin next to them and some without.
This is how some people have hit the jackpot and some have been simply “jacked”.
• If you were on the first page of Google’s organic listings before, you will still be there. You are still a WINNER!
• If you were on the first page of Google’s organic listings AND you were on the first page of Google Local Map Listings, your website will be listed on the first page AND you will have a red map pin next to your website information. Just to the right of your website info, you will have a notation of your patient reviews from your Google Local Map Listing plus a link to that listing. You are a BIG WINNER!!
• If you were on the first page of Google Local Map Listings but NOT on the first page of organic results, you will no longer appear on the first page of results. You are a BIG LOSER!!!
“Now What?”, you ask.
