Eye-Mapping Research From Google
Through the science of “eye-mapping” we are able to predict where, and for how long, a visitor will gaze on your website page.
It has been repeatedly shown that a viewer follows a natural ”F” pattern to view your home page in the first 10-15 seconds. They quickly scan to find “important” parts of the website. Oddly enough, it doesn’t seem to make any difference what kind of website design they are exposed to - they follow the “F” pattern automatically.
By analyzing this research, we can see that, classic-styled websites - those with the links down the left side of the page - may not be capturing as much attention as they could be.
According to “10 Conversion Secrets” a short book by Internet-Response Guru, Matt Trainer, moving your offer (free report, etc.) over to the right and also bringing all of your “important Material “above the fold” of your web page has produced increases in web page conversion rates of 300% or more.
