Five “I’s” to Make Your Website Shine

Today, people (especially women) have little time to accomplish a lot. When searching for information online, they have become the “I Want…” demographic. Here are five “I’s” that will make your website shine.

• Instant Gratification:

“Search” is just a misnomer. People don’t really want to search at all. They want information easy to access. If you can spoon-feed them with information, even better.

• Info-tainment:

Ever since Google bought YouTube in 2008, everyone is watching online videos. Even those who never had sound on their computers before, have speakers now. Give them a walk-on spokesperson or welcoming video to be their tour guide of your website. Install a video player on your website complete with informational videos on cosmetic dentistry, implants, perio disease, sedation dentistry and more.

• Intimacy:

Visitors want to get to know the real you. They want to know your opinions and what’s happening in your professional life. Your website should include an embedded blog/eNewsletter where you can share your thoughts. Why do they want this? Because so many things in today’s world have become faceless and nameless. Hence the explosion of FaceBook and Twitter.

• Interaction:

If visitors like your website and want to take the next step, give them the tools with which they can. Have an “Ask the Doctor” link. Promote a “Request an Appointment” link to introduce the idea. Include a “Refer a Friend” page for your current patients to recommend you to friends. Let them “Subscribe to Our Blog/eNewsletter” so they can keep up with your articles. Encourage them to “Take Our Survey” so they feel heard and understood.

• Inside Information:

People love insider information and the more sensational, the better. In several pages of your website, give people the opportunity to download “Special Reports” on dental topics. How can dental topics be sensational? It’s all in the title. Take Curtis Group’s report, “My Teeth Could Kill Me?” This report “exposes” the reported connection between your body’s health and your oral health. We make this report, among others, available to our website clients.

Just like in the 60’s when grocery stores discovered that the longer they could keep people walking around in their stores, the more they would buy, today’s websites are also built around “stickiness”. That essentially means that the more things you offer that capture the interest of a visitor, and the longer they “stick” on your website, the more likely they are to become your next new patient. Just remember not to look “cluttered” or disorganized on your website.

What’s Wrong With My Website?

There’s probably nothing wrong with your website that a Marketing Tool Makeover wouldn’t help.

When the Internet was young, it was pretty easy to create a website that worked. People were still in awe of the newest “toy” on the block. All they needed to be impressed was more

Google’s Revolutionary Eye-Mapping Research

Through the science of “eye-mapping” we are able to predict where, and for how long, a visitor will gaze on your website page.

It has been repeatedly shown that a viewer follows a natural ”F” pattern to view your home page in the first 10-15 seconds. They quickly scan to find “important” parts of the website. Oddly enough, more
