Old Dogs CAN Learn New Tricks

I had the pleasure of speaking about “Branding Your Market Position” at Dr. Tom Orent’s 1000GEMS Golden Dozen Meeting in Boston recently. While presenting is always a rewarding experience for me, I also had a chance to absorb other’s knowledge - sometimes even more rewarding if you listen well. During that day’s programming, there was an opportunity for me to sit back and listen to some very successful practices from around the country discuss marketing techniques that really work and also brainstorm new ideas. This interactive time, moderated by Tom Orent, opened my eyes to some real opportunities for dentists.

Logos - The Good News, The Bad News & The INCREDIBLE News.

• The Good News: A classy, professional logo will raise your current and new patients’ perceptions of your skill, quality of dentistry, artistry, service and, especially, what they should expect to pay for those attributes. You should be able to immediately raise your fees by 10-15% with few problems. Large cases will be more easily accepted and your employees’ morale and personal professional expectations will rise.

• The Bad News: Of course, the logo can only accomplish this if you get your new image out there for people to experience. You need to create and distribute effective marketing materials. Basically unless you get that image out there where your patients, and prospective patients can be influenced by the art, your logo’s impact will be greatly diminished. “But, Mark, a new logo is a lot of money and developing marketing materials will mean additional costs.”

• The INCREDIBLE News: Curtis Marketing Group will credit ALL of what you pay for your logo design back to you. Let me state this clearly. When you have your logo designed by Curtis Marketing Group, we will give you an equal value in Savings Certificates to use on new marketing materials.
